What can I do with the completed forms and reports?

You can download them to your hard drive, save them to a floppy, or use our Email feature to send them to anyone with an Internet Email address free of charge. Your online account makes your inspection data accessible to you anytime, anywhere.

What happens to the inspection forms after synching?

Once you have synchronized your inspection forms, they are stored online in your Inspection Portal. Depending upon the number of forms or inspections per building, this can take from just a few seconds to several minutes after synching.

Who has access to the Inspection Portal and data?

Only those you choose.

You control your Inspection Portal through your Membership Account. You assign who has permission to view, create, or edit data and reports stored in your Portal.

How secure is the data stored on the BuildingReports site?

We are VeriSign® secure. We perform multiple back-ups on a daily basis, and protect our web servers with a variety of encryption and firewall technologies. We utilize only the latest in data management tools, and protect your data as if it were our own.

Use XML to download data in a variety of ways, and maintain your own internal database with any tool you choose. This way you always have your own data and files, and we become your back-up and archive files. Contact Support for more information.

What is the position of BuildingReports on Internet privacy?

Neither your Membership Account, nor any Building Accounts you have setup under your Membership Account are shared with anyone outside of you or your company. Only you or your designated Account Administrator have access to your Membership Account.

Will my Membership Account information be shared with anyone outside of BuildingReports?

Absolutely not. Regardless of whether your Membership Account is an individual account or one among a group of accounts associated with your company, the information surrounding your Membership Account is not shared with anyone outside of BuildingReports.

Is the data for the Building Account shared with anyone outside of BuildingReports?

The inspection data for each Building Account is only accessible by a building representative you assign during setup of the building. The inspection report cannot be modified by anyone, including the assigned building representative. Only you and your company can update and synchronize data for that particular Building Account.

Once you receive your login ID and password, you'll be able to download everything you need for your Palm™ handheld, the applications, sync software, and your user guides.

How many users may share an Inspector ID?

Each Inspector ID contains the primary login ID of the handheld device user. Therefore, it is not recommended that you share Inspector IDs.

Inspector IDs are used to identify the inspector, and to verify the authenticity of the inspector, as required by regulatory agencies. Access to the primary login ID by different individuals would compromise the integrity of the inspection data. This does not mean that multiple users are unable to share the same Palm™ device.

It does mean that the person assigned to the primary login ID of the Palm™ device is responsible for each inspection once uploaded to the server. Usually, this is the inspection supervisor, or the one who signs-off on the inspection once completed.

Certain codes, standards and other requirements stipulate that the name of the inspection supervisor or qualified inspector who conducted the inspection be listed.

How many users may share a Palm™ Device?

As many users as you would like. You can have multiple Inspector IDs on the same device.

How do I set up a Building Account?

There is no charge, but you must login first. Once you have successfully logged on, you may set up as many Building Accounts as you need. There is no limit to the number of Building Accounts that may be associated with a Membership Account. Typically a Building Account is created just prior to conducting the first inspection. If you would like to import existing building account records from another program, contact our Support Staff for more information

How many buildings may share a Building Account?

Only one building per Building Account is permitted. Most, if not all, building codes and standards on which inspections are performed require that each building maintain separate records. Groups of buildings and campuses can be viewed together, so it is not necessary or useful to group buildings under one Building Account.

Grouping buildings together is very useful for national accounts, large universities, and other campus style buildings. Viewing buildings in a group allows the viewer the ability to monitor the status of every inspection, in every building, from one screen.

How do I give the building owner or property manager access to each Building Account?

You assign the building owner, property manager, or other designated representative of the building owner a login ID and password during the setup of each new Building Account.

This allows the building representative to access the finished reports anytime, anywhere, via the BuildingReports web site. You can change this login ID and password at any time. This would typically occur when there is a change in building ownership or change of property management.

How many Building Accounts can each Membership Account create?

Each Membership Account may have an unlimited number of Building Accounts.
