What type of bar codes will the scanning type units read?

BRInspector™ : Code 3 of 9 by default. The scanner can be setup to read virtually any kind of bar code, even pre-existing ones from manufacturers and other bar code programs.

Scan Series: Only bar codes issued and registered by BuildingReports may be used with any of the scan series of applications. Each bar code number is unique and associated with a particular device within a particular building. This is not possible with manufacturer bar codes.
